At VCP, ESG considerations are embedded across our investment process. Through this we are able to identify and mitigate potential risks while unlocking latent opportunities.

Our active management approach to investing provides us with the platform to align ESG factors to investment strategy, ensuring lower risk and long-term value to our investors.

We are proud to announce that we have joined the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and responsible investing.

As a signatory, we pledge to integrate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors into our investment decisions, driving long-term value and positive change. The PRI, supported by the UN, is the leading advocate for responsible investment worldwide.

HIGHLIGHTS

We are B-BBEE Level 1 rated asset manager. Since appointing a Head of ESG and Compliance to our team in 2021, we have further strengthened our ESG due diligence and monitoring processes.

In 2022 Metair was ranked first across the JSE by
IRAS for ESG reporting. The company’s new plant in Kwa-Zulu Natal, opened in November 2022 has created approximately 4,400 new permanent jobs.

Sun International is fully committed to industry
leading responsible gaming practices. In 2021 the company was ranked first by IRAS in the Travel and Leisure industry for its ESG reporting.

In 2021 PPC adopted the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) reporting, and has set targets to achieve net-zero by 2050 with steps to cut emissions by 27% by 2030.
